Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu is set at the private high school Hakujō Academy in Japan and centers around the male protagonist Yūto Ayase and his classmate Haruka Nogizaka. While Yūto is rather ordinary, Haruka is very attractive, intelligent, and rich. Due to this, she is the school’s most unattainable girl and is so idolized that her classmates give her the French nicknames “Nuit Étoile” (The Silver Star of the Night) and “Lumière du Clavier” (The Shining Princess on the Piano). One day, Yūto’s good friend Nobunaga Asakura asks him to return a book to the school library, and when he goes to return it, Yūto stumbles across Haruka and her darkest secret — she is a diehard fan of anime, manga, and the otaku culture. Yūto promises to keep her secret hidden and in return he becomes her confidante of sorts as he accompanies her to Akihabara, and visits her home often.

Ayase Yuuto never has liked girls before, thanks to the constant treatment he got from his sister and teacher (massive fanservice from both. Nosebleed). One day in school, his friend Asakura Nobunaga, who was an avid otaku went to his class to talk about a series (Clumsy Aki-chan) aired the night before. There he showed Yuuto “Innocent Smile” which is the Anime mag for Clumsy Aki which he borrowed from the school library. Hearing this Nogizaka Haruka who was seating in the back row jumped up.
The next day the school PA announced to Nobunaga to return the magazine to which he entrusted it to Yuuto as he was going somewhere else (One Piece parody lol). As Yuuto return the magazine, Haruka also went to the library and borrowed it. Unfortunately for her she bumped into Yuuto and the magazine and her bag fell. Scared that people will know of her secret she ran away
Later that night Yuuto went back to school to give Haruka her bag back. But after taking it she ran away as she was afraid that Yuuto might tell her secret to someone else
The next day she keeps avoiding him to which her admirers blocked Yuuto from following her. Yuuto managed to find her on the roof, to which he declared that if she don’t want to, he will never reveal her secret to anyone else, much to Haruka’s relief. Thus they became friends.
As Yuuto was preparing dinner he was amused that he actually manage to get friendly with a girl. as he was thinking, his phone rang to which Haruka called for his help. It seems that she missed her deadline to returning the magazine and it would be announced all over the PA system if she did not return it that night. As she was scared she asked for Yuuto to come with her.
At the library, Haruka clung at Yuuto as she remembered all the school ghost stories. As they were about to return the book, they heared a cat mewing. Remembering one of the ghost stories of a cat, Haruka fell to the ground scared. Yuuto went to investigate and found it was just Yukari-sensei’s lost phone to which she made her ringtone the soudn of a cat. Relieved, Haruka found out she dislocated her hip when she fell, to which Yuuto laughed. Outside, Haruka thanked Yuuto and asked him to call her by her first name as it feels that they were strangers if he keep calling her Nogizaka.
Quite good, generic good but good nonetheless. I lol’ed at Haruka’s “ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!!” reaction when she saw Ayase and his friend holding up the Innocent Smile magazine. Also awesome level of fanservice from Ayase’s sister and teacher. All in all, I liked this, a lot.
Review pending on office’s shitty internet. Noto Mamiko as Nogizaka is weird as I usually hear Noto-san as a male, but oh well, Nogizaka is fine too I guess. The swimwear in the OP is the best ever. Moee~~~
