In the latest edition of ComicREX, it was announced that the manga Kannagi, aka Crazy Shrine Maidens would be suspended because of health reason that has befallen the mangaka, Takenashi Eri (who is also a Type-Moon staff). There is no mention what really happened, or wether or not the manga would be resumed (at all) after this.

While the “official” cause is said to be health, it was wildly speculated that the real reason was the otaku’s extreme backlash to the storyline that Nagi (the titular character in the series) already had a boyfriend (which to them makes her unpure) have led to an ire by the Mangaka.

If that’s the real reason, one might wonder what would happen to the industry in the future as with the fujoshi incident before, the extreme behaviours are getting more and more rampant.
