PSP Go. Sony Fail’ed?

Sony’s much touted newly designed PSP, the PSP go has been met with less than stellar sales, with the device selling lower than 1K in Australia over the past week.

The device, which was designed to be “Internet Friendly” has been criticised as not ergonomic, and also forcing past PSP owners to rebuy their old games as the device has been designed without a UMD drive. Indeed, of the 50,000 stock Sony have in France, only 5000 units has been sold since it’s launch there.

Considering that this was in the wake of the news that PS3 is enjoying better sales after languishing at the bottom of the scrap heap of overrated console status for years, Sony seemed to have shot itself in the foot again, along with the rumours that the PSP2 which according to Sony “have the power to rival a PC” (a PC with an Intel Extreme graphics maybe? My PC has better specs than the PS3 :3) next year, PSP Go now seemed like a bloody stupid idea already.
