Haruhi Movie Substantial in Length

The much anticipated “Disappearence” arc movie of Suzumiya Haruhi that is set for next year has been given quite a substantial boost when it was announced that the movie will be around 150 minutes long.

Nobody quite knows why the long running time, considering that usually Kadokawa loves to cut corners when thinking about cost, but this means that the anime has more than enough time to cover the whole novel arc, and a little bit more. This in turn also leads to the speculation that the movie will have some new story added on, unless Kadokawa wants to pull another Endless Eight (FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!) and kill off the series altogether.

With KyoAni’s King of Quality Anime title is being taken by SHAFT, this might be the time for them to show why they were so revered and loved by fans.
