Famous British children book, The Borrowers is set to have an anime adaptation after Studio Ghibli has announced that it will use that book as the basis for it’s latest project. The adaptation, entitled “Karigurashi no Arrietty” will be released in 2010
“The Borrowers”, which started publishing in 1952 is a series of books by Mary Norton decipting the lives of a race of tiny people that “borrows” things from humans to survive.
The series has several adaptation, the most memorable was the 1997 live action version, but this will be the first time it will be animated into an anime. Instead of England, the setting will be Japan in 2010.
Plans are to release this in the summer of 2010
