Toaru Kagaku no Railgun’s side character Saten Ruiko seems to have outperformed Railgun’s titular character, Misaka Mikoto in terms of popularity. In a recent “Railgun festival in Animate” event, the stickers that featured her sold out quickly compared to everyone elses’. A sign of what the fans really want to see?

  • Each of them are good and delicious. But I’ll still go for the teleporting-lesbian.

IMO Saten’s popularity is due to her “commoner” perspective in the story, so she’s more relateable to the common mass with her anguish, just like most people have their own worries. Episode 14 of the anime gave some extra points as well, I believe.

Stickers? Sounds like the type of merchandise a few hardcores might buy half the stock of themselves. At any rate it’s not a good indicator. No, Biri biri is still queen.

Not necessarily true. It’s true that stickers are not a good indicator, but Saten is extremely popular. If Biri biri is still queen, Saten is probably the second most popular.

yeah… but Mikoto has three stickers to sell, and Saten only as one. A better comparison would be to poor Uiharu.

Anyway, you can just look at all the latest anime mag polls, and yeah, it’s just Mikoto all the way.
