‘Don’t say Indy’, the MAD remixed version of ‘Don’t Say Lazy’, the ending song of moeblob musical series ‘K-On!’ has proven to be really popular. It doesn’t take long for fans to create a 3D computer generated version of it, this time substituting Daler Mehndi with the girls of the series, with interesting result.

Even though the show has ended, the massive popularity of the characters among otaku would surely mean parodies like this will crop up for years to come.

Studio 4°C’s Soviet World War II animated movie, First Squad: The Moment of Truth has won the Kommersant newspaper’s prize at the Moscow International Film Festival last Sunday. The film festival, labeled as the largest and most renowned international film festival is the first major coup of this joint 3 nation produced anime (Japan-Canada-Russia).

Created by Russian artists Misha Sprits and Aljosha Klimov, and Created by Russian artists Misha Sprits and Aljosha Klimov, 4°C’s Yoshiharu Ashino directs it. Also helping is Hirofumi Nakata and Eiko Tanaka in term of designs and producing.

The movie tells the story of several soviet teenagers, that has been blessed with superior abilities. Needing help against the invading German forces in the World War, these teenagers were recruited by the Soviets into a special unit to combat an SS officer that is trying to revive an army of 12th century crusaders to fight under the Nazi cause.

Fans of Tony Taka can now order keyboards featuring artwork from the famous doujin artist, and also from Cornelian as offered by E☆2 magazine. There are only one design per artist though, and sadly it’s SFW.

Unlike normal itasha keyboard though, the artwork would be directly printed on the keyboard instead of using the usual method of using stickers. Thus according to the manufacturer, will lead to a higher quality finish and longer lasting artwork.

The keyboard will retail at 10,000 yen each.

Tetsujin 28 Statue Nearing Completion

Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s Tetsujin 28-gō 18m life size statue set to be permanently immortalised in Kobe is nearing completation, if that youtube video above to be believed. The statue, which will have it’s final base at Wakamatsu Park, was planned to be finished in August, but now pushed back to the end of September and it’s official unveling in October

Unlike Bandai’s RX-78 life size model at Odaiba, the Tetsujin 28 is created to commerate the revitalised of Kobe, after the 1995 earthquake that nearly destroyed the city. As such, the statue’s main construction site is at Nagata Ward, the hardest hit place in Kobe during the quake, but now fully recovered.

Costing at 135 million yen, it was chosen also to remember Yokoyama-sensei, one of Kobe’s most famous son. Partly funded by the city (they paid around 45M yen), the rest was garnered from sales of “Tetsujin Curry”. Unlike the Bandai’s version, this statue cannot move, but it will be a permanent structure.
