Of Moefication, Marketing and Profit

sora-no-woto-k-on-character-montage
See the picture above. Looks the same don’t they? But what if I tell you that the characters are from two different animes, from two different studios, with virtually a different team of designers and animators? Welcome to the new world of moefication, where basically studios have abandoned all hope of making a good storyline, and instead, holds on the hope that moe will still sell for them. By the way, if you’re wondering, the picture above is a splice between the characters from K-On! and the new anime Sora no Woto. The similarity is striking that you would think that there are something common between the two. But look at this:

2009 in review: Animus

japanscene
Ahh another year comes to an end. Another year filled with animus, another year wasted watching them. So how WAS the animus this year? Well I would say so – so. Other than the generic harem/fighting/mecha animu, there are some gems that were worth watching up till the end. And it was quite a good thing, as I don’t really have time to watch every anime that is released out there, compared to other people :(

Tony’s Preview for C77

title-76
After speculating that Tony might be dropping his doujin work due to Sega’s commitment, a quick check at his website revealed that was not the case. Hitagi Senjougahara is the subject this time, altho with her having a fear for sex, any doujin that tries to have a story of her with Ararararagi-san enjoying it would seem stupid IMO.
